FAQ: How far is Callala Beach to Huskisson?
Huskisson is about a half hour drive to Callala Beach. On a map it looks like it would be less, but there is no bridge from Myola to Huskisson so you have to go back out to the main road and come back in again.

Spring time at Merry's Retreat - 2009
How 'Pet Proof" is Merry's Retreat
I have had a lot of enquiries asking how "dog or pet proof" the fence at Merry's Retreat really is. Well I decided to take some photos to show you. This type of fence goes around the whole property. And the block size is approx 800sqm.
Hope this helps! Click on the images to see a larger size.

Testamonial from recent guest
June 2009 - Maureen
My partner and I had the most relaxing break at Merry's Retreat, with
our 2 dogs. The peace and tranquility was much needed and in good
supply! When we pulled up in the driveway, my partner asked "What's
that sound?" it was the sound of the ocean, just 2 streets away...
It's a very comfortably appointed home with absolutely everything you
need.
Our dogs enjoyed the stay almost as much as we did (maybe even more!).
In fact, tempting them inside with treats only worked for the first
day - after that, they couldn't care less about coming inside! The
fact that the yards are well fenced gave us total peace of mind.
Bring plenty of supplies if you don't fancy the (very short) drive in
to Callala Bay, to stock up and you can just relax and enjoy your
stay. I could go on for pages!! Simply put - if you need to recharge,
relax and rediscover yourself, then this is the place to be!!!

Callala Beach in Winter is beautiful
You know how some places in winter are really not that nice, or can be depressing? Well not Callala. Still full of birds, there is NO ONE on the beach and you have it all to yourself.. In fact I know someone who went swimming last week!
The Golf Course is around the corner, there are plenty of wineries nearby, and really pretty scenic drives as close as can be.
Come on down and stay. You won't want to leave.
